One of the old traditions of Russia is drinking and harvesting birch tree juice, especially during spring. One will consider the process as a very simple one if they came to know who will be doing the harvesting, its mainly kids. yeah the process is so simple that even kids under the age of 14 can do it. There are two ways of producing the juice.
PROCESS 1:
Make a hole in the stem of the tree and place a funnel or top part of the beer bottle. connect a tube at the bottle mouth so that the juice will be collected at the tin provided at the other end of tube.
PROCESS 2:
Cut a branch of the tree and just insert the branch into the bottle, tie it up with a tape and connect it to a tin as explained in the PROCESS 1.
Yo can enjoy the birch juice only in spring because if you try to get it in winter you can make only frozen juice.. Ha Ha. Spring is ahead, harvest and enjoy the taste
